Steven Wilson - CEO

Steve received a master’s in teaching in 2002 and moved to Coatesville the same year to begin advocacy work in education. He and his wife, Stefanie, co-founded The Bridge Academy and Community Center (BACC) in 2002 and led the BACC through 2007, establishing a comprehensive educational and art center that continues to serve hundreds of Coatesville youth.

In 2007 Steve moved on from the BACC to establish Hope Beyond Borders (now Educational Equity Alliance) to expand awareness of the need for educational equity and to help grow an alliance of leaders and organizations seeking to ensure all students can flourish.

Steve has taught courses, seminars, and workshops, on principles of educational equity and justice, and has been a guest speaker in multiple universities. Ordained in 2008, he taught in a wide range of faith congregations, and currently serves as as an executive coach and a consultant for nonprofit leadership teams, helping them to fostering racially inclusive environments that work toward racial and/or educational equity.

Steve continues to work and live in Coatesville with his wife and three children, and enjoys barbeques, trail-running, swimming, and more recently - pickleball.
